ONE BRIGHT WINTERY DAY IN WICHITA

Today Chris and I decided to take a drive to look for the bald eagles that are rumored to be in Wichita right now. The recent winter storms has caused their usual winter homes to be frozen over, so the majestic birds have come to Wichita to the Arkanas river. We drove up and down the river, but didn't see any eagles.

It was really cccoooolllddd!!!! The car said it was 35 degrees, but the bitter wind made it seem even colder. We braved the elements though to walk down to a lake at the park. We saw some beautiful geese and ducks! Here are some shots below:

A lot of the lakes and streams here in Kansas are frozen in parts right now. Although it's not safe to venture out onto the ice, Chris took a quick picture here standing on the ice a local park next to the boat dock.

Isn't that crazy that the ice is thick enough to hold a grown man!!!!
